PARTICIPATION IN THE PALLIATIVE CARE AND BEREAVEMENT CONGRESS
Caring for and accompany a person with a chronic illness is a challenge that requires both academic preparation, and psychological and spiritual. And it was part of that preparation to which we had the opportunity to access for three days in Congress on Palliative Care and Bereavement organized by the Medical College of Panama and the Piero Martinez dela Hoz Foundation. Talking about loss and how to help children, youth and adults to face the death of others and in many cases make their anticipatory grief to face their own death is not easy, this faces your own weakness and fear. However, depending on your inner resources, your outlook on life and especially the faith in Christ, that promises a new life in Him, we get the forces to cope with and heal the pain caused by these losses. As one of the speakers said: “God is the best co-therapist to overcome the pain caused by death” and this is because Christ conquered death through his resurrection, and we in Him we have eternal life.
Our participation in this activity was 12 to 14 October and is part of the training for our staff; in this event Mgstr. Itza Romero represents the ministry.

The last 10 years, Project Joel has developed a strategy involving training, monitoring and training in Christian values, a professional level.
To do this, 10 volunteers from Project Joel, developed the training for one week, 300 students participated in this training named “Towards to working life”. Feminine esthetics, fashion, professional ethics, “Christian service”, professional values in life is some of the topics already covered.
Sixto Guevara, speaker, who received this training when he was a secondary student, says: “I once trained not only put into practice what I had learned, I followed exactly the Christian advice I was given. Today, I am a Project Joel volunteer”. On the other hand, Nelson Araúz, another facilitator, commented: “Not only I stayed working at the company where I practiced, but that through Christian teaching received, my whole life changed”.
For Professor Juana López, “This 25 hour’s activity, developed in 5 days, is the most complete experience that young people have had at this level.”
And many of these students have gone through a series of training activities and informative speeches that concluded with this event. “It’s a unique opportunity to bring the Christian faith at the highest level of professional training.
